Pick a record. Trust the cover.

Choose an unfamiliar album by its cover, title or artist name, then listen together and see how close your guesses were.

Visit a record store, CD shop or thrift store and each choose two or three unfamiliar albums based only on the cover, title, artist and packaging. No reviews, searches or previews. Agree on one and buy it if the price makes sense. Before listening, predict its genre, mood and best-looking song title. Listen together, each pick a favorite track, and compare your biggest surprises and overall scores. If browsing in person isn’t practical, use a streaming service and pick an unfamiliar album visually without previewing it.
