Take the photo. Even if it’s ridiculous.

You know the photo we’re talking about. Somebody blinked. Someone else is laughing too hard to look at the camera. The lighting is awful. It might be the most honest picture of the night.

That’s usually the one you end up loving.

Stop waiting for the perfect occasion.

It’s easy to think memories need a big event. A weekend away, a once-in-a-lifetime concert, a table with a view. Those are wonderful, but there’s a lot of life happening in between.

Some of the best nights start with very little: a new place to eat, a walk you didn’t plan, or a tiny photo booth tucked into the corner of a bar. Step inside, pull the curtain, and see what happens when nobody gets to approve the pictures.

Try a photo-booth date.

Find a photo booth in your area, or make your own with a phone timer, a desk lamp, and a plain wall. Each person gets to pick a pose. Make four photos: a nice one, a silly one, a dramatic one, and a wild card.

Print the strip if you can. Put it somewhere you’ll see it. Let it remind you that a pretty ordinary night turned into something you shared.

A little evidence that you were there.

One of the ideas behind WDYWD? is that date night doesn’t have to be perfect to count. Finding something to do together matters. So does remembering it later—especially the parts you couldn’t have planned.

Go on the date. Take the picture. Keep the ridiculous one.
